Terms of Service

SWD Editor, by YNX Labs · Last updated 17 July 2026

Plain language, and we mean it. This is the agreement between you and YNX Labs for using SWD Editor and the files it makes. If a term ever seems unfair, tell us; we'd rather fix it than hide it.

The agreement Your content Accounts Free and Plus Billing Acceptable use What SWD does and doesn't do Warranty Liability Changes Governing law Contact

The agreement

By downloading SWD Editor, making a Sealed Web Document, or using our website, you agree to these terms. "We," "us," and "YNX Labs" mean the company behind SWD Editor. "You" means you, or the organization you represent. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you can bind it.

You need to be old enough to form a contract where you live to use a paid plan.

Your content is yours

We don't claim any ownership of what you make. The files you create, and everything you put inside them, stay entirely yours.

  • You own it, and we can't touch it. Everything you create with SWD Editor is yours, and stays yours. Because you make and seal your files on your own machine, we never receive them, so we do not, and cannot, read, use, mine, sell, share, or train any AI or model on your documents or on what's inside them. We're for you owning what you make, and against anyone harvesting or selling it.
  • No lock-in. A Sealed Web Document is a plain file. You can open, keep, move, and send it without us, forever, even if you stop paying or we disappear.
  • We don't see your files. You make and seal them on your own machine. We don't receive, store, or scan the contents of your documents.
  • You're responsible for what you pack. Make sure you have the rights to the video, images, code, and other material you put in a file.

Accounts

You don't need an account to make, open, or sign documents. You only create one to buy Plus or manage a subscription. When you do:

  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it current.
  • A Plus license runs on up to 3 devices. You can remove a device to free a slot.
  • You can delete your account anytime from your account page.

Free and Plus

Making, opening, verifying, and signing documents are free for everyone, with no account. Plus adds editing files people send you, saving a web page as a document, password encryption, signature fields, and presentation tools. We may add, change, or retire features over time; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, we'll tell you.

Billing, renewals, and cancelling

  • Prices and tax. Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. Payments are handled by our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal); we never see or store your full card details.
  • Renewals. Plus renews automatically at the end of each term (monthly, yearly, or two-yearly) at the then-current rate for your plan, until you cancel. Your account page shows your renewal date.
  • Cancel anytime. You can cancel from your account page. Your Plus features stay active until the end of the term you already paid for; we don't cut you off early.
  • Refunds. If a charge shouldn't have happened, or a feature you paid for is broken, tell us and we'll sort it out. Beyond that, Plus is non-refundable once you've started using its paid features, because the value lands the moment you seal, encrypt, or issue a signature box. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase; when you choose to unlock the paid features right away, that starts the service with your consent and waives the 14-day right for what you've used. We may decline or reverse a refund where we reasonably believe an account is set up to buy, use, and reclaim payment again and again. Nothing here limits the consumer rights you have by law where you live.
  • Intro pricing. Introductory prices are for new customers and the first paid term only, one per customer, and renew at the standard rate. They're limited and may not be available later.

Acceptable use

Don't use SWD Editor to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
  • Distribute malware, or pack content designed to harm the people who open it.
  • Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy.
  • Misrepresent a file's origin, or forge or strip a signature to deceive.
  • Attack, overload, or reverse-engineer our services to break them.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Because your files live on your own machine, closing an account doesn't delete or disable documents you already made.

What SWD does, and what it doesn't

We'd rather be clear up front than have you find out later.

  • It's for static content. A Sealed Web Document holds anything you could publish as a static site. It can't run a live server at read time, so logins, live databases, and payments inside a document aren't supported.
  • A signature proves integrity, not identity. Signing shows a file is unchanged and which key signed it. It does not, by itself, prove who holds that key.
  • Sealing isn't secrecy. A sealed file is readable like any web page unless you encrypt it with a password (a Plus feature). Sealing gives you no-network and tamper-evidence, not confidentiality.
  • You hold your encryption passwords. If you lose the password to an encrypted file, we can't recover it. There's no backdoor, by design.

Warranty

We work hard to make SWD Editor reliable, and we use it ourselves. Still, the software and website are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, YNX Labs isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for SWD Editor in the 12 months before the claim (or CAD $50 if you're on the free plan). Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct, or your legal consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows. If we make a material change, we'll post the new version here with a new date and, for account holders, let you know. Continuing to use SWD Editor after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and by applicable Canadian federal law. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
